Lando Norris earned McLaren a very positive P4 at the United States Grand Prix Sprint Race, saying that "the pace was strong" for him throughout Saturday.
While his teammate Oscar Piastri struggled to find any pace or rhythm throughout the Sprint, Norris was able to consistently knock quick laps down, pushing Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari all the way to the line, just missing out on a fantastic P3.
Norris spoke to Viaplay after the saying, happy with the pace and the final P4 result for the British team. "Good, happy, the pace was strong. I struggled to get past the Ferrari in the beginning, but not many people did pass him. So, yeah, it was a tough, a difficult beginning. But the pace was good, so that's a positive sign for tomorrow."
Norris also spoke about the work that will be put in for Sunday's main race, in which he starts P2 on the grid. "Yeah, I mean, like I said, the pace was good. It's been good all weekend, so it's not a surprise. But Mercedes are quick. If you're saying Lewis didn't get thirty-niners, he was doing forty-point zero laps?
"But no, the pace is good, but it's not convincing enough. We still have some more work to do, but it's going to be a good race, hopefully, with Mercedes tomorrow."
