Lewis Hamilton not only received a ten-second time penalty in the British Grand Prix but also saw two penalty points added to his licence. The Mercedes driver now stands on four accumulated points in a twelve-month period. When collecting twelve points in a year a driver gets a one-race suspension. That is not an issue for Hamilton for the time being.
The stewards have also made public the document describing what led them to decide to give Hamilton a ten-second penalty. Red Bull still has the opportunity to appeal the decision.
