Max Verstappen recorded a dominant victory in China, just as the
Red Bull Racing driver had also won the sprint race with supremacy a day earlier. For
F1 fans at home, it is apparently starting to become commonplace, as Verstappen was not rewarded by viewers with the 'Driver of the Day' title. That honour went to
Lando Norris, who finished second with his
McLaren, ahead of
Sergio Perez's second Red Bull.
GPblog asks who did you think was the best in the
Chinese Grand Prix?
Norris indeed delivered a handsome performance. Although somewhat helped by the safety car procedures, the Briton ended up in second place; a position he managed to hold on to by setting similar lap times to Perez in what appeared to be a faster car. For Norris, this was the fifteenth podium, a win he has yet to achieve in
Formula 1.
Further down the field,
Nico Hulkenberg's performance also stood out. The German managed to grab his fourth point of the season. Still a handsome achievement for Hulkenberg and his modest Haas team, which is competing in the constructors' standings against Alpine,
Williams and Stake F1. Those three teams are still waiting for their first points.
Who will be the GPblog Driver of the Day?
Plenty of choice in any case. Vote for your Driver of the Day in GPblog's poll!
