Red Bull Racing junior, Arvid Lindblad, is taking his maiden F2 season at his own pace, with one clear goal in mind, and it isn't to become champion... yet. F2 title the goal for aspiring F1 driver, Lindblad?
Currently sitting in P8 in the standings, Lindblad is 18 points off championship leader, Leonardo Fornaroli. Answering a question from GPblog, Lindblad explains where his focus currently is. "I'm not really thinking about that at the moment," says the Red Bull talent.
"We've only done two rounds so the performance hasn't been amazing across the first two," adds Lindblad who is also quick to acknowledge that his own mistakes have somewhat hindered his maiden F2 season's start, showcasing a level of maturity beyond his years.
"There's been some stuff that's been out of my control and then a few mistakes as well in important moments that's meant I've not been as towards the front as I'd like." But that's the past, what of the future? Naturally, the Red Bull youngster looks to Jeddah. "To be honest I'm just focused on trying to improve the performance and trying to have a really good weekend here in Jeddah and be fighting at the front again."
And the championship? "We'll see what happens with regards to the championship but first, I'm just thinking about trying to be more competitive and then obviously that will become maybe more of a question later."
