Wolff defends Verstappen: "He hasn't deserved that"

Mercedes was not present at the FIA gala on Thursday evening, where Max Verstappen received the main prize for winning the world title. In conversation with the NOS Wolff emphasizes however that he wishes the Dutchman the world title.
According to the Austrian team boss, the race control acted wrongly during the last race in Abu Dhabi, causing Lewis Hamilton to miss out on the world title. It is the main reason Wolff still does not want to talk to race director Michael Masi about the event. Although Wolff realises Verstappen deserves the attention, he believes the FIA should investigate quickly.
"It's annoying for Max that these discussions cast a shadow over his title. He hasn't deserved that," Wolff let it be known. "I can partly understand the opinion of some Dutch fans that we are bad losers. Passion is part of the sport and that includes these texts and allegations on social media."
Wolff tries to clarify position
The team boss continued the conversation by stating that he has long resigned himself to the fact that the world title is for Verstappen. However, Wolff wants to prevent Masi's decision, which he believes was unlawful, from happening again in a future championship. However, it doesn't look like the FIA will be moving any time soon.
