'All of Italy sees 2022 as opportunity for success for Ferrari'
- GPblog.com
According to many, Ferrari looks like it could make a nice comeback in 2022 with the new regulations. Gary Anderson however fears that Ferrari will use old methods if it doesn't happen.
As the most famous and beloved name in Formula 1, the pressure is always on Ferrari. It was therefore very painful for the team to finish sixth in 2020, after the development of the car had failed miserably. Last year, things went a lot better for the team and they still managed to finish third in the standings in the last race of 2021.
The hope for Ferrari fans is therefore that the team can once again fight at the front in 2022. With Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, the team from Maranello has two great drivers and all opportunities are up for grabs thanks to the new regulations. There is hope on the horizon for the Italian team. Can Ferrari finally really fight for the title again after all these years?
What if Ferrari's season fails?
Although there is a lot of optimism, Gary Anderson of The Race fears the consequences if the team does not make a big leap in 2022. In the past Ferrari has been very eager to blame one or more people for a failed season and fire them immediately.
The last few years have been pretty quiet for the team, but Anderson thinks that could change if it's another disappointing season. "If Ferrari is not successful in 2022, then they will go back to the old methods very quickly and we will see heads roll." It is hoped for Binotto and his colleagues that the red car can compete for the title again this year.
