The FIA has released an official statement. The Formula 1 board confirms that it has begun a detailed analysis of the events at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Final decisions on the results will be announced in March. The process has started under the leadership of the new FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Discussions will be held with F1 teams and drivers.
"The FIA President launched a consultation with all F1 teams on various issues, including this one. On January 19, an item on the agenda of the Sporting Advisory Committee will be dedicated to the use of the Safety Car. The following stage will be a shared discussion with all F1 drivers", reads the statement.
FIA gives deadline
The investigation was announced after the controversial events during the all-decisive race of the season, where Max Verstappen managed to take the championship victory on the last lap of the race. The full analysis will be presented to the F1 Commission in February. On March 18, the final results will then be announced in Bahrain.
