Alpine is currently making quite a few changes within the team's management. Last week it was already announced that team boss Marcin Budkowski has left the team and now reports Speedweek.com that Alain Prost is also leaving the team of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon.

No more advisory role for Prost

Former Formula One driver and four-time world champion Prost joined Renault as an advisor in 2015 and was named a non-executive director in 2019. The Frenchman had a one-year contract with Alpine, but the team decided not to renew his contract.

The relationship between Renault and Prost goes back a long time. From 1981 to 1983, Prost drove for Renault's Formula One team, for which he scored nine victories. In 1983, Prost finished second in the World Championship, his best result in Formula 1 up to that point.

Szafnauer to Alpine with new main sponsor?

Although still not officially confirmed, Aston Martin team boss Otmar Szafnauer would take over from Budkowski at Alpine starting this season. Szafnauer would also take Aston Martin sponsor BWT with him in the process. Although BWT is no longer listed as a sponsor on the Aston Martin website, Stroll's team does not make any statements about this yet either.
