VeeKay doesn't rule out transition to Formula 1: 'Become Max's competitor'

Rinus van Kalmthout is known in the United States as a great talent. In 2021 he put in an excellent season in the IndyCar and he hopes to maintain that form in the coming years. At the same time, he does not rule out a move to Formula 1, he told Ziggo Sport.
With Max Verstappen, the Netherlands has a top driver in Formula 1 for the first time. The Red Bull Racing driver put together a special season last calendar year by competing for the world title until the last race in Abu Dhabi. He managed to overtake his rival Lewis Hamilton on the last lap of the race and thus won the World Championship.
Van Kalmthout possible alongside Verstappen in the future
Van Kalmthout's talent also seems to be sufficient to make it in Formula 1 in the future. VeeKay, as his nickname goes in America, emphasised that he is having a good time in the IndyCar, but is keeping the possibility open for a switch.
"If of course I get the chance to become Max's teammate, or to become Max's competitor at a good team, then you have to think about that," Van Kalmthout responded. "But I'm not thinking about that at all right now. If I can drive IndyCar for the next 20 years and compete for titles then my life is more than complete."
