Red Bull working on RB18: 'It's just fractionally behind'
- GPblog.com
The Formula 1 teams will drive their new car for the first time on Wednesday at the circuit in Barcelona. All eyes are on the reigning world champion who gave little away during the presentation of the car.
Whereas Max Verstappen was the outsider in Formula 1 last season, this year he is among the favorites for the world title. Due to the new regulations Red Bull Racing had to rebuild the entire car and it is questionable whether the team can bring the high level again.
Jolyon Palmer made an analysis of the car based on the first day of testing. "It looks heavy on fuel," he let us know in conversation with the official website of Formula 1. "The handling looks fine, the corner fazes all look fine it's just fractionally behind time-wise so that's the hallmark of a heavier car."
Preparing for the new season
The Austrian racing team has two more days to test the car after Wednesday. In a few weeks time, new test days will take place in Bahrain. On March 20, the first Grand Prix is also scheduled there and the teams must be ready to fight another battle.
