Kvyat refuses to sign FIA document and sits on the sidelines for a year

Daniil Kvyat, former F1 driver for Red Bull Racing and others, does not agree with the measures imposed by the FIA against Russian drivers and teams. The Russian therefore refuses to sign the conditions to be allowed to race.
Kvyat drove in Formula 1 from 2014 to 2020, except for a year on the sidelines in 2018. The Russian achieved a few podium finishes, but could never really break through. At Red Bull, he was therefore replaced by Max Verstappen in 2016 after one year and after four races.
Kvyat to WEC with G-Drive
After serving as Alpine F1 Team's reserve driver in 2021, Kvyat's plan was to explore another branch of motorsport in 2022. Namely, he was under contract with Russia's G-Drive in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the FIA has established conditions that Russian and Belarusian athletes and teams must comply with. Team owner of G-Drive, Roman Rusinov, has said that he will not accept these conditions, leaving Kvyat without a seat in 2022.
No signing of the document
Kvyat himself said that he will not sign the FIA document either, reports SoyMotor.com. "In the interest of my fans, my teammates and sporting honour, I will not sign the document. It is better not to race," are Kvyat's words.
