Verstappen: 'Have the feeling we can get closer to Ferrari'
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen is not dissatisfied after the first two free practice sessions in Australia. Ferrari again seems to be the fastest, but Red Bull Racing is not far behind. The Dutchman compliments the modified Melbourne circuit and expects to attack Ferrari.
Charles Leclerc was just a bit too fast for Verstappen in FP2. The Limburger is therefore not necessarily dissatisfied with his team's form in Australia. In the past two races, Ferrari was also very fast in the practice sessions, and there was still good competition by Red Bull on Saturday and Sunday. Verstappen got a car in front of him on his last lap at the end of the second session, which also prevented him from doing his fastest lap.
Verstappen still expects to gain something on Ferrari
Judging by Friday's race, it promises to be another exciting fight. At Sky Sports Verstappen says: "We had some difficulties with the balance, but after some adjustments to the car I was more satisfied at the end. We are a little bit off Ferrari, but I feel we can get closer."
Although it seems like the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne is still a bit too narrow in some places for all the F1 cars running there, Verstappen is happy with the modifications. The Red Bull driver shares compliments: "The changes are good and the grip on the track is fine. The holes and bumps have improved and you can now cut the corners much better. They've done a good job of that."
