Russell acknowledges possible mistake: 'Maybe it's not'

George Russell says Mercedes is likely to flip the set-up of the W13 before getting back into the car on Saturday. The desired results from the current set-up failed to materialize.
Change to the set-up
Russell said earlier on Friday his team roughly understands what is not right about the car. The 'porpoising' of the W13 on the revamped Albert Park circuit is the worst he has experienced so far. According to the Briton, a change to the set-up could bring an improvement for Saturday though.
"We believe how we set the car up was the fastest way around the track but maybe it's not, so we'll be working hard tonight to understand more," Russell said in a press release from his team.
Albert Park has improved
Incidentally, Russell is pleased with the revised layout of Albert Park. The circuit has become a lot faster due to some modifications and has received a new layer of asphalt. "Driving is always cool, especially driving round a circuit like this - it's just more fun when you jump out of the car and see your name near the top of the timesheets!"
