Ferrari 's first home race this season went dramatically. Max Verstappen, on the other hand, grabbed the maximum number of points for the Imola Grand Prix, narrowing the gap towards Charles Leclerc in the drivers' championship. In Viaplay 's studio, analysts discuss Red Bull Racing's race.

"This is in Italy the biggest blow he could have dealt. For himself, Verstappen should just keep winning races and not look at anything else, because that does work very well. In Italy, this did hurt a lot," Tom Coronel began after the race.

Carlos Sainz crashed out on the opening lap after a collision with Daniel Ricciardo, while Leclerc spun through his own fault in the closing stages of the race, It's a big blow for Ferrari, as the team had hoped to win the race on home soil.

Verstappen grabs nineteen more points

Verstappen is slowly closing in on Leclerc in the championship. After two dropouts, the result in Imola comes at a good time. "He is back in business though. The last race he was so far behind, but he just takes nineteen points more than Leclerc, that's fantastic. One more weekend like that and you're back in business," Giedo van der Garde said.

Red Bull took the risk to come upwith aerodynamic upgrades in Imola, despite the fact that only two free practice sessions were scheduled. Due to the sprint race, teams can only make adjustments to the car on the Friday. Fortunately, the upgrades did their job. "I think it's so nice that with so few free practice sessions you do put a car down that is good," said Van der Garde.
