Cooldown room makes return in Imola: Verstappen and Perez discuss race
- GPblog.com
For the first time since 2019, the cooldown room in Formula 1 is back. Due to the Covid pandemic, this moment after the races was stopped, but after the Imola Grand Prix where Max Verstappen won in dominant fashion, the top three can be found back in the little room.
For years, fans were shown images of the top three in the small room called the cooldown room after the race. This is where the drivers wait until they are allowed on the podium and are handed towels and water bottles.
The cooldown room has already provided some great images, such as Kimi Raikkonen entering the room during the American Grand Prix to tell Verstappen that he had lost his P3 after a penalty from the FIA. Funny moments also often arose between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
Top three discuss moments from the race
In Imola, we see the little room again for the first time since 2019. Sergio Perez tells Verstappen and Lando Norris how Charles Leclerc got closer to him throughout the race, and the men also discuss the damage to the Monegasque's Ferrari.
