Charles Leclerc suffered a mental blow last weekend by finishing outside the podium. Nevertheless, the Monegasque seems to be fighting for the world title this season. According to Mattia Binotto, Leclerc is also showing what he is capable of within the team.
Whereas last season Lewis Hamilton fought alongside Max Verstappen for the world title, this season it is Leclerc's turn to do battle with the Dutchman. So far, Leclerc has been the weekend winner twice, while Verstappen has won as many races this year.

Binotto is satisfied with Leclerc

At Ferrari, they are already looking their eyes out. Leclerc is not only showing on the track that he has developed himself, but also internally at the stable they notice that the driver is increasingly ready to fight for the world title. Binotto sees that Leclerc is also developing in other areas.
"He has the talent to make it," the team boss points out in conversation with L'Equipe to the world title. "He is a young driver who we know well. He grew up with us in the Ferrari Academy. We have invested in him and he is winning with us. He is becoming a leader within the team. And that's important."

Hey. You missed out George.
He will be in the mix too, or if Oscar Piastri gets a chance to be in a competitive car, he could also be a driver that would be in the mix of top young drivers fighting for WDC for the next 10 years.
