This weekend the Formula E Prix of Monaco is on the agenda. The Dutch Envision driver Robin Frijns hopes to win his first race of the year. After all, the team is very competitive.

Formula E has added a gem to its calendar with Monaco. The historic value of the circuit in F1 speaks for itself, but in FE the circuit perhaps has more to offer. After all, overtaking seems a lot easier there than in F1. We spoke to reigning FE champion Nyck de Vries who explained the differences in detail.

Frijns already thinking about the championship

For Frijns, who is currently second in the championship, a first victory of the season is on the cards. The Dutchman is seasoned in Formula E and has already taken two previous wins. Now that his team is competitive, he may just win another race on the challenging Monaco circuit. During the press event prior to the weekend, the Maastricht native told GPblog and others that the championship is already on his mind:

"We were very competitive [last race]. That's the most important thing we have to do. We want to win, but in the end you can also win the championship without winning a race. Of course, winning is the goal here though." A win in Monaco will put the Envision driver in the lead. Currently, Frijns is only two points behind Jean-Éric Vergne of DS Techeetah.
