Does Hamilton quit after this season? 'Only more determined'
- GPblog.com
Lewis Hamilton seems to be able to claim the 2022 world title after just four races. The Briton is not only far behind Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, he also has an inferior car for the time being. However, according to Matt Morlidge, this does not mean that Hamilton will leave after this season.
The seven-time world champion was consistently competing for the world title with Mercedes from 2014 onwards. This season the situation is completely different. In Saudi Arabia he had to settle for a tenth place, while a few weeks later in Italy he even went home pointless.
There were frequent rumors in the media that Hamilton was thinking of retiring from Formula 1 after the season. With the current developments, Mercedes' prospects are not great for the time being and internally the battle would break out with his teammate George Russell.
Hamilton remains behind Mercedes team
However, Morlidge does not expect Hamilton to leave his team any time soon, the journalist writes on Sky Sports. Instead, the feeling within the team would be stronger than ever. "It is actually believed that F1 2022 has only made the Englishman more determined, rallying his team behind the scenes," he states.
