Verstappen the favorite in Miami: 'Then you have a good car here too'

Despite Charles Leclerc and Ferrari being on top in the driver and constructor standings respectively, Martin Brundle believes that Red Bull Racing has the best car in 2022.

After four races in the 2022 Formula 1 season, Leclerc is at the top of the championship. The Monegasque won two races, finished second once and threw away a fourth podium spot with a spin in Imola. Max Verstappen is in second place in the standings and saw his deficit in the standings increase mainly due to reliability problems.

However, with two wins under his belt, Verstappen is still in a good position and Brundle even argues that Max has the best car. ''If you look at how they're winning the races - especially in today's DRS-driven era - they've been dominant with their straight-line speed. Taking away Max's unreliability, of course. My takeaway from the first four races is that Verstappen and Red Bull are the combo to beat for the world championship,'' said the former F1 driver in a Q&A from Sky Sports.

For the Miami Grand Prix, Brundle, therefore, thinks Red Bull is the favourite. ''I think the Red Bull will be mighty around here. A good car is a good car, whether it's a wet day in Imola or a roasting one at a new Miami track,'' the analyst concludes.
