Where Max Verstappen suffered from a lot of problems and saw very little action, Sergio Perez had a slightly better Friday in Miami. Yet the practice sessions also went messy for the Mexican due to multiple red flags, leaving Red Bull with no idea where they stand.

Perez finished in third place during FP2 behind Charles Leclerc and George Russell. Nevertheless, Friday also went messy for the Mexican, who flew off the track several times. Due to red flags caused by Carlos Sainz and Nicholas Latifi, the teams did not really get around to long runs with a high amount of fuel on board.

"It was a messy session. In total, I did one lap and two softs lap. On the high fuel there was nothing we could do with the red flags all the time. Most people in the same boat as us," Perez explained to Sky Sports.

Perez expects interesting race

It is possible that the teams will also have to deal with rain during the rest of the weekend, but even without wet conditions Perez is already struggling to find grip outside the lines.

"Qualifying we have more of an idea but it can change with the weather around here. Disappointing there is no grip off line, it's a shame. It's like it's wet. Racing will be hard. Interesting race, not knowing exactly where we are," Perez said.
