Verstappen takes advantage of Leclerc's loss

For a moment it looked like Charles Leclerc was going to do good business in the world championship during the Spanish Grand Prix. The Monegasque was in the lead with Verstappen only in fourth place after a spin. However, with Leclerc dropping out with engine problems, Verstappen still managed to take the win and with it the lead in the championship. In the championship, the Dutchman now has a lead of six points over Leclerc.

Perez took his third podium finish of the season and is now getting close to Leclerc. The Mexican is now nineteen points behind the Ferrari driver. In the top ten there were no further shifts in the championship standings.
