Daniel Ricciardo appeared at the start of the Monaco Grand Prix with a striking message on his helmet. There, the message read 'FEA', an abbreviation for 'F*** 'em all'. At Fox Sports he explains the message and makes the link to his time at Red Bull Racing.

Ricciardo is in the midst of a difficult period in his Formula One career. The McLaren driver has achieved just one top ten result this season, compared to five for his teammate Lando Norris. Consequently, his lack of strong performances has earned the Australian criticism from pundits, some of whom believe that his best days are over.

Even McLaren CEO Zak Brown recently shared that the driver is not quite living up to the team's expectations at the moment and pointed out that there is a possibility of ending the contract early. This further increases the pressure on Ricciardo's shoulders.

On the weekend following his boss's statements, he appeared in Monte Carlo with the written message 'FEA' on his helmet, but the driver insists the message was "not directed to anyone. " I put it on my helmet in 2018 too," Ricciardo said, referring to his final year at Red Bull Racing.

"I like to use acronyms to pump me up," the Australian continued. He stresses that it is important for him as a driver to be able to flip the switch as soon as he puts on his helmet, and seeing that message helps him do that, he says.
