- GPblog.com
Haas has not yet brought any update for the VF-22 in 2022, and it will be some time before it does. Indeed, Guenther Steiner tells us that the update has been delayed.
Developing further in 2022
Haas started the 2022 Formula 1 season on a positive note with a fifth place for Kevin Magnussen in the Bahrain Grand Prix. This was followed by two more top ten finishes for the Dane in the first four races, but after that it went downhill fast. Haas loses more and more ground on the competition and that is not surprising.
With new regulations it is not only about building a good car, but also about further development. In the first phase of the new regulations you learn a lot about the new car and updates can make a big difference. It is therefore remarkable that the American racing stable has not yet brought any updates.
Update from Haas
There will be a major upgrade for Mick Schumacher and Magnussen, but the drivers will have to be patient for a while. Steiner let us know at Motorsport.com Steiner informed us that the update planned for the French GP will only come later in the season. The target is now Hungary, the last race before the summer break, after some additional checks in the wind tunnel.
Haas has the most time in the winter tunnel this year of all the teams because it finished last among the constructors last year. It wants to put that time to good use for the new update. Steiner states that it will be the last update of the season. The focus of the team will be on the design for 2023.
