'Red Bull Racing solves overheating brakes with experimental component'

Despite leading the team in both championships, not everything is going smoothly for Red Bull Racing just yet. A new upgrade should now reportedly solve a long-standing problem.
In the races, Max Verstappen is often the fastest and defeats his rivals, but in qualifying, he has to deal Charles Leclerc starting in front of him almost every time. This is partly due to brakes getting too hot quickly, which means the RB18 can't be pushed to its limits as much over one lap compared to the F1-75.
According to the Italian branch of Motorsport.com that problem should be solved at the Canadian Grand Prix. The medium reports that Red Bull Racing is switching to new calipers, made in conjunction with Brembo. The calipers have received an anti-overheating treatment, keeping everything a lot cooler than before. The new part is a lot darker than the old calipers in the pictures.
Important role for brakes in Canada
Red Bull Racing itself would not confirm anything about the possible modification, but it would not be a crazy time to introduce an upgrade for the brakes. The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is known to be a tough circuit for the brakes. If Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez want to be up front after qualifying, an upgrade in that area would not be a luxury.
In any case, the two Red Bull Racing drivers will not be bothered by Charles Leclerc this time. The Monegasque has been given a ten-place grid penalty because he had a component in his engine replaced, exceeding the quota.
