Podium finish for Hamilton at Silverstone would set record
- GPblog.com
Lewis Hamilton secured his second podium of the season a fortnight ago in Canada. The Briton hopes to continue his good form at Silverstone. If he manages to finish in the top three again, he will also have a new record in addition to the points.
The seven-time world champion managed to finish on the podium no less than twelve times in Great Britain, which puts him on a par with Michael Schumacher. The former driver achieved the same in Montreal, Barcelona and Imola during his career.
Should Hamilton therefore again secure a place in the top three, he will be alone at the top and take the record away. The Mercedes driver will therefore be hoping that the updates the German team brings to England will be such a big improvement that the team can compete more effectively with Red Bull Racing and Ferrari.

Competition for Hamilton and Schumacher
Max Verstappen still has some way to go on his way to the record. The Dutchman has finished on the podium six times in both Spielberg and Barcelona. Kimi Raikkonen, with his nine podium finishes in Hungary, comes closest to Schumacher and Hamilton.
