Why Aston Martin is doing everything it can to retain Vettel

Aston Martin wants to keep Sebastian Vettel at all costs. The German's contract expires at the end of this season, but Mike Krack explains why the team is doing everything it can to keep him.
Aston Martin must prove something
At 35 years of age, Vettel is no longer the youngest man in the paddock and after being linked with retirement at the end of 2020, the rumours are now back. It is clear that Vettel expected more from his new team, but Aston Martin cannot live up to the sky-high expectations. Since Vettel only wants to stay in F1 in a competitive car, the question is how he sees his future.
For Aston Martin there is no doubt: Vettel must be kept at all costs. It starts with the fact that he is a four-time world champion, so he brings a lot of experience and is very fast. He also has a work ethic that I have never experienced. It is an extremely hard worker," says Krack in conversation with F1insider.com.
Quality of Vettel
Vettel has been known for years to be the first to arrive at the technical meeting, give a lot of details about his car and be the last to leave. He does everything in the team to get to the next level, without being negative.
"Most drivers get frustrated and create unnecessary pressure through the media. I have never experienced that with Sebastian,'' concludes the Aston Martin team boss. Aston Martin has also announced that it does not yet have a replacement in mind. Mick Schumacher has been mentioned, but the British team doesn't want to think about that just yet.
