Verstappen praises his team: 'Shows how quickly we react'

Max Verstappen looks back satisfied on the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Dutchman praises his team for making the right choices, even when the earlier calculations around the hard tyre proved not to be useful.
"I was actually joking, but not anymore," Verstappen began on Sky Sports. The Dutchman told his team on Saturday as a joke that he would win the race. "I think it shows how quickly we can react. We were planning to start on the hard. We went out for the warm-up laps and that was not working on the soft. The team needs to be flexible around that," he added.
Verstappen started from P10 following engine problems during qualifying. However, Red Bull Racing chose the perfect strategy, allowing the Dutchman to drive to victory. Ferrari went completely wrong, so Verstappen again takes a lot of points from rival Charles Leclerc.
Team took the right decision
"Everything was calculated around the hard tyres and to make that quick decision shows we have a lot of belief in ourselves. We needed to be careful in the first corner. I got a bit unlucky got boxed in and out of the corner I had a good launch and from there moved forward. Then we had the strategy with two undercuts. I think we did the right strategy and managed it to the end with a 360," continued the Dutchman.
"You can't always rely on your calculations for the race, because with these temperatures and it was constantly drizzling a bit, so you have to adapt. You need that feeling in the car, but also at the pit wall they need that feeling to make the right decision. They did," Verstappen said.
