Alpine responds to Alonso's unexpected departure for Aston Martin

Fernando Alonso will leave the blue of Alpine for the green of Aston Martin after 2022. The 41-year-old driver will work for the British team for several seasons, thus closing the Alpine chapter. His current employer issued a statement via social channels after Alonso's departure came to light.
"We wish Fernando the best for his future in Formula 1. Fernando has always been, and always will be, part of the Renault and Alpine family and we’re proud and privileged to have shared so many on-track moments together," it said on Twitter Monday afternoon.
Alpine is involved with McLaren in the battle for the all-important fourth place in the constructors' championship. Together with Alonso, the French team will do everything possible to finish the season in the best possible way. "We look forward to finishing the remainder of the 2022 season with Fernando in blue, and we’ll keep pushing to the maximum until the final lap in November."
After the summer break, the development of the 2023 car will also become increasingly important. Naturally, Alonso will be shielded from this so that he cannot take any important information to his new team in Britain.
