Capito happy with Albon confirmation: 'Provides a stable base'

On Wednesday Williams announced that Alexander Albon will be part of the team for the next few years. Team principal Jost Capito is delighted with Albon as a 'great driver' and confirms it is a long-term partnership.
Albon signs multiyear contract
"Alex is a tremendous driver and valued member of Williams Racing, so we’re thrilled to be able to confirm we will be working with him on a long-term basis," Capito revealed in Williams' press release.
"Alex brings a great blend of skill and insightful learnings that will help bring the team greater success in the future. He’s a fierce competitor, has proved a popular and loyal team member and we are delighted that he will provide a stable base for us to continue to develop in this new F1 car era," Capito concludes.
Link with Red Bull
For Albon, 2023 will be his second year in the dark blue of Williams. The Thai arrived in 2022 after serving as a reserve driver for Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri in 2021. It is not yet known if Albon still has a link with Red Bull after this announcement.
