Max Verstappen won by a wide margin last weekend at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. For the Dutchman, however, the gap with Ferrari came as no surprise, as he told the press, including GPblog.

The Dutchman sees that his team has worked hard on the car in recent months. "We started the year with a very fat car, it was overweight," Verstappen explained. "We slowly got rid of that. Also finding better setups on the car. It has changed a bit into a certain direction."

Verstappen remains realistic about the situation

As Verstappen managed to drive to victory from midfield in the Grands Prix of Hungary and Belgium, it seems that the Austrian racing team with the reigning world champion is almost unbeatable. According to Verstappen, however, the situation is different.

"Spa was on rails, the first time in 5 years in Spa we could run our normal downforce and now everything felt well balanced. Hungary was quite a lot closer. It was a close fight and the race was about being patient but I don’t think we had a massive advantage. Some just suit better that others."
