Daniel Ricciardo is on his last seven Grands Prix at McLaren. Next season Oscar Piastri will drive in his place, forcing him to look for another challenge. At the press conference he told Formulapassion.it that this is not just about next season.

The 33-year-old Australian believes he needs to take a broader view. Although he knows that things can go wrong for a team in motor racing, he tries to make as balanced a choice as possible.

"I evaluate everything. When I decide for myself to make it known, I don't keep it hidden. It is not about what is best for next year, but for my future. It goes beyond 2023," said Ricciardo, who won last year's Italian GP.

Hamilton discusses Ricciardo's future

As rumours circulated that Ricciardo was in the running for Mercedes' reserve driver, Hamilton decided to comment on Ricciardo's situation. The Briton revealed that Ricciardo is still too good to be third driver, so he hopes the McLaren driver will find a place elsewhere.
