Pressure on Perez increases: 'All of Mexico will be watching him'

Red Bull Racing saw Max Verstappen take the world title in Japan. Where the Dutchman has achieved his goal, another challenge awaits Sergio Perez. Namely, the Mexican is battling with Charles Leclerc for second place in the world championship. Emerson Fittipaldi believes the pressure on Perez will increase further.
Perez is in his second season at Red Bull. Although he did better in 2022 than last calendar year, the Mexican still does not manage to come close to Verstappen's performance. Nevertheless, Fittipaldi thinks the driver can certainly be satisfied with his season.
However, the Brazilian points out that in the closing stages of the season, the pressure will increase on Perez's shoulders. Indeed, since Red Bull seems to have it better together than Ferrari, the driver should be able to win the competition with Leclerc.
"Sometimes he's run ahead of Max this year," the former Formula 1 driver stated in conversation with Vegasinsider.com. "He's looking forward to having a good result in America and then prepare for the race in Mexico City at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, where all of Mexico will be watching him. That will be a challenge for him for sure."
