- GPblog.com
We are approaching the end of the season. With only four races left on the calendar, many teams are already shifting their attention to the 2023 season. Consequently, for the US Grand Prix, only three teams are bringing updates.
Mercedes brings most updates in Austin
All eyes will be on Mercedes' car this weekend. The team is bringing updates to the track for the last time this season. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will drive with a new front and rear wing this weekend. The W13 also has new modifications to the floor.
The updates are mainly to improve airflow. The new parts are also reported to result in a weight loss of almost five kilograms, allowing the W13 to gain one tenth per lap. The team has yet to achieve a victory in 2022.

The other two teams with updates this weekend are Alpine and Alfa Romeo. Alpine is fighting McLaren for fourth place in the constructors' championship. The French team has updated the edge of the floor. It is the last update to the floor for this season. Like Alpine and Mercedes, Alfa Romeo has also opted for modifications to the floor to generate more downforce and improve the car's stability.
