Mercedes sees growing commitment from Hamilton due to rising line

Mercedes feels the team is on the right track to fight for wins again soon. Andrew Shovlin reveals this in an interview with Formula1.com. According to Mercedes' top executive, this has a positive effect on Lewis Hamilton's involvement within the team.
The seven-time world champion still plays an important role within the racing stable. Whereas with Mercedes he could not manage to compete at the front at the start of the race year, both sides are increasingly noticing that it is moving in the right direction.
"I think, the same as us as a team, Lewis can also see that we’re definitely going in the right direction," Shovlin assessed in the interview. "We can see a clear route to getting back to a point where we can challenge for pole positions and wins."
Shovlin argues that Hamilton's confidence is also growing. "You can see with Lewis’ commitment to the team, that’s increasing, the closer we get, and his commitment to putting in the work on his side to try and help us achieve those goals."
Hamilton managed to improve himself quickly
The top executive stresses that Hamilton has always continued to work hard and was motivated, but thinks it was a shock to the Briton that Mercedes had problems in the early stages of the season. However, after a number of adjustments, Shovlin noticed that the driver quickly progressed with his performance.
