Albon doesn't fear sprint race: 'Unless it rains'
- GPblog.com
Alexander Albon is not worried about having one less practice in Brazil. The Williams driver will sit out the during the second free practice, giving him less preparation time for Saturday's sprint race.
Albon will have to relinquish his car to Logan Sargeant, his intended teammate at Williams next year, in the second free practice session for Brazil. Sargeant has yet to secure his super licence and for that it is essential that he drives as many practice sessions as possible. Due to the sprint race, the race weekend in Brazil looks different from normal, meaning Albon will miss not the first free practice - as is usual - but the second.
Weather still the biggest threat
At the press conference ahead of the race weekend in Brazil, Albon gave his take on the situation. " It will have a small effect," the Williams driver admitted. "I think generally speaking, it should be fine. The main concern is obviously if it's wet on Saturday and it's dry on Friday, then there might be a bit of learning to do in the Sprint race. But yeah, that will be some fun. "
In the last two races, there are still some things to be gained for Albon. He has only four points in the championship but with the quality of this year's Williams, there wasn't much more to gain either. Albon will be angling for every opportunity to score a few more points to end the year with.
