Like Sergio Perez, Lewis Hamilton will also drive with a special helmet during the weekend before the Brazilian Grand Prix. Earlier this week, the seven-time world champion was named an honorary citizen in the country.
Perez is driving with a special helmet this weekend based on the new film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Hamilton has also chosen to drive with a different helmet. In doing so, the Mercedes driver wants to honour his second homeland. Indeed, earlier this week, Hamilton was named an honorary citizen and received a corresponding award.
The Briton has been much loved in Brazil for years. Hamilton himself has been a big fan of Ayrton Senna since childhood. "British by birth, Brazilian at heart", reads Mercedes' caption on Twitter.
