Horner highlights difference: 'Verstappen is a very natural driver'
- GPblog.com
Christian Horner sees many similarities between Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel, but according to the Red Bull Racing team boss, there are also many differences between the two world champions.
Since Vettel won his four world titles at Red Bull, the German is often compared to Verstappen now that the Dutchman has two titles to his name. In their first title fight, both drivers won the championship only in the very last race, while the following year they took home the title in dominant fashion.
In an interview with Formule1.nl Horner talks about the similarities he sees between his current and former Red Bull drivers. "They share the same hunger to win." Apart from that, however, the men are completely different people. "Max is a very natural, instinctive driver. Sebastian, on the contrary, thought a lot about driving. I think Max is less 'sucked in' to the details than Sebastian."
Will Verstappen also win four world titles in a row?
Whether Verstappen will win four world titles in a row like his old colleague remains to be seen. In any case, Horner does not want to look too far ahead. "But for me, Max is the driver who stands head and shoulders above the rest in Formula 1." If Red Bull can give him a car good enough to compete for the title in the coming years, the Brit thinks Verstappen can achieve much more in the sport.
