Carlos Sainz has had two difficult seasons at Ferrari. In both years, the Spaniard was looking for the right balance of his car in the early stages of the season, losing many points for the world championship. However, the driver is proud when he sees how much the period has brought him.
Sainz, in an interview with Spanish Marca did not deny that he had to work hard in the last two years. He had to make so many strides with his team that it was hard for him to keep hope, but Sainz managed to stay positive.
"I could have given up when I saw how difficult it was sometimes," he realised to himself. "As has been seen with other drivers on the grid, it is not easy to turn around a situation like this. I was able to do it."
In doing so, the Ferrari driver not only gives himself a big compliment, as he also admires the team. "It gives me a lot of optimism and pride when I see how much work my engineers and I have done this year."
Sainz and Leclerc in balance
Last season, Sainz managed to finish above teammate Charles Leclerc despite a tricky start. The Monegasque managed 62 more points than Sainz a year later. The Spanish driver did not get beyond fifth place in 2022.
