Alonso serious about Le Mans with Verstappen: 'We should give it a chance'

Max Verstappen previously responded positively to Fernando Alonso's suggestion that they might one day compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans together. Alonso responded to that again and also made a remarkable proposal for their possible team boss.
Verstappen expressed a definite interest in forming a team with Alonso should they both want to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the future. The Dutchman just does not want to rush it, but is up for it in the future and if a great opportunity presents itself.
Alonso: 'I prefer Max'
Alonso also reiterated his interest in the joint project. "I know Max wants to do endurance one day and a participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans would appeal to him. I am definitely open to doing that together. I think we should give this idea a chance if we can drive for a competitive team," said the two-time World Champion in conversation with Minuto Deportes.
In addition, the 41-year-old Spaniard already has an interesting idea for who could lead the team. Asked if he would also like to form a team with Jos Verstappen, he replied as follows: "At the moment I prefer Max, but I also have a lot of respect for Jos. Maybe he could take on the role of team leader," Alonso concluded.
