'Seidl takes on role of Sauber team boss from 2026'

Andreas Seidl will eventually move up to the role of team boss at Sauber, report Auto, Motor und Sport. He will work there as CEO for the next three seasons. According to Michael Schmidt, once the team starts carrying the Audi name, Seidl will become the team's leader.
McLaren came out with the news this week that Seidl is leaving the team to join Sauber. Behind the scenes, his job over the next few years will be to ensure that a stable base is created with which Audi can move forward from 2026.
In four years, the new engine regulations will go into effect and Audi will appear in the team name. It is then reportedly planned that Seidl will make the switch to team boss, which will allow him to be more closely involved in the Formula 1 team's performance.
Sauber looking for successor Vasseur
However, it also means that Seidl will not succeed the departed Frederic Vasseur as team boss and Alfa Romeo, as Sauber's team is called until the end of 2023, will have to look for a direct replacement for next racing year. In doing so, the team would start looking internally before considering other options.
