Verstappen not concerned with how car looks: 'As long as it's fast'

Max Verstappen is yet to see the final Red Bull car for 2023. During the media event at the unveiling of the new car, the Dutchman declared to GPBlog and others that he does not concern himself with such matters.
The pre-season car reveal is always exciting for fans, but the teams are always careful to reveal as little as possible. It is also not unusual for the car shown at an unveiling to end up being quite different from the car that appears on track during test days. In Red Bull's case for 2023, it was simply a livery launch.
'I just want a fast car'
At the unveiling of the Red Bull car for 2023, reporters in attendance noted the same. Verstappen was asked if he could give some more insight into the differences between the car on show and the car that will eventually run in the championship. Verstappen responded with characteristic sobriety.
"To be honest, I haven't seen it. I've only spoken about the performance upgrades in terms of lap times and the behaviour of the car. I haven't seen the pictures or renders, I am not interested in these kinds of things. I only want a fast car, it doesn't matter how it looks like to me," the two-time World Champion said.
The final car will be seen for the first time at the test days in Bahrain from 23 to 25 February. The first race of 2023 will also take place in Bahrain on Sunday 5 March.
