F1 teams with long lists of updates for Bahrain GP
- GPblog.com
It is the first day of the first F1 weekend in 2023. Teams have brought to the Bahrain GP weekend a lot of updates and upgrades. AlphaTauri in particular has a lot of news on the AT04. Red Bull Racing, Mercedes and Ferrari are also showing more.
During F1 winter tests, F1 teams never show the back of their tongues. They don't in terms of fast laps, but neither do they in terms of equipment. Many teams bring new parts to the race weekend. And at AlphaTauri, that's quite a list. By the way, these upgrades are not just novelties introduced since last week. They are also upgrades from 2022.
AlphaTauri biggest innovator
AlphaTauri takes a lot of new parts with it. Nyck de Vries' team looked cumbersome and slow during testing, although they did drive a lot of laps. With these modifications, they hope to have a faster car this first weekend. AlphaTauri's list includes: A new nose, new front wing, new front suspension, better floor, new diffuser, engine cover, rear wing end plate, new sidepod inlets and improved cooling.
At Red Bull, the list is much shorter. The team has a new engine cover that improves reliability, a new front wing and new floor edge, which gives geometric advantage. At Ferrari and Mercedes, most of the tinkering has also been done to the front of the car. Ferrari takes a new front suspension, a new front wing and also a new engine cover. Mercedes has a new front suspension, a new nose, front wing end plate, a new rear wing and also a new floor edge.
