Nico Hulkenberg made his comeback as a fixed-seat Formula 1 driver at the last race in Bahrain. The 'super-sub' is now racing for Haas-F1 and immediately made a strong impression by qualifying his VF-23 in 10th. Team boss Guenther Steiner is positive about the cooperation between his new driver and Kevin Magnussen, who drove for the Haas team last year.
After a good qualifying from Hulkenberg, who managed to put his Haas car in 10th place for the race in Bahrain, Steiner is happy with the collaboration between his new driver and Magnussen: “They’re working well together and there is respect between them. It’s very good for Kevin to have a teammate with experience and what Nico brings with him is experience."

There were some problems in the race: for example, a piece of Hulkenberg's front wing flew off his car on the opening lap. Magnussen started as the only driver on the grid on the hard tyre and that caused him some difficulties. In the end, Magnussen finished 13th and the German 15th in the race.
"All in all though, I think the performance is there in the VF-23, we just need to get it out permanently at all the races – so I’m really looking forward to those races.” says Steiner in the Haas press release
