Haas boss Guenther Steiner makes new career move (again)
- GPblog.com
Guenther Steiner is a busy man. The Italian American (or American Italian) is, of course, the team boss of Haas F1 and has become a media personality thanks to the Netflix series Drive to Survive. Next month his book Surviving to Drive will be published, so Steiner will soon officially be a writer too.
Next weekend, Steiner will make another career move. The popular team boss can be heard as a commentator for the first time. He will be active as a co-host on FOX in the United States during the NASCAR race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. A week later, the US-based Steiner is expected in Melbourne for the Australian Grand Prix.
'Haas is in the mix'
A lot of travelling then, as last weekend he was in Saudi Arabia. There, Haas picked up its first point of the season. Kevin Magnussen finished tenth, teammate Nico Hulkenberg finished twelfth. Afterwards, Steiner was delighted with the result. "As I said after Bahrain, I didn’t really know where we were with the car, but we now know where we think we are", he told in a press release from his team.
"We’re in the mix, we’re actually pretty good, I think – it’s all coming together. We didn’t panic after Bahrain – now we’re cautiously optimistic", the team boss continued.
