Gasly risks suspension due to Ocon incident after remarkable restart

The FIA caused misery by opting for a standing restart in the closing stages of the Australian Grand Prix. So too for Pierre Gasly, who may risk a suspension for the next Formula One race in Baku.
Gasly risks FIA suspension
Chaos immediately ensued during the late restart, which involved Alpine teammates Gasly and Esteban Ocon. The drivers hit each other and came to a stop next to the track. The incident is being investigated by the stewards and could potentially have far-reaching consequences for Gasly.
This is because the Frenchman has 10 penalty points on his licence. Should he be penalised for the collision with Ocon, it will basically land him on a one-race suspension. That would mean Gasly would not be allowed to start in the Azerbaijan GP.
Earlier, team boss Otmar Szafnauer hinted that he had tried to have the penalty points for minor offences removed from Gasly's licence, but met resistance from other F1 teams. Some team bosses reportedly admitted that they had "opportunistic" reasons for doing so.
