Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing's success since 2021 has been enormous. The Dutchman won the insane title race from Lewis Hamilton in 2021 and has subsequently become the dominant force in Formula 1. They are also getting this success in America, earning Red Bull a lot of sponsorship money.
Formula 1 has grown incredibly fast in recent years, especially in America. After years, 2021 finally saw another exciting title race, which has done the sport a lot of good. In America, the number of Formula 1 fans is rising fast, partly due to the Netflix series Drive to Survive.
Many American sponsors
America is an incredibly large market and Red Bull is taking excellent advantage of this through its success. "21 of the last 25 sponsors who have entered into a partnership with Red Bull Racing are headquartered in the US region," Kelly Brittain, the director of brands and communications the Austrian team, told de Telegraaf. So more than 80 per cent of Red Bull's latest sponsors are American.
Red Bull are known for the extreme marketing they show as a brand and they thoroughly enjoy it. "As Red Bull, we are not running away from anything. We as a marketing team also have the permission to do 'crazy shit'. That's what makes it so much fun. For the fans, but also for us. We are a bit like the noisy neighbours," said Brittain. Red Bull has announced it will drive a fan-designed livery in all three races in America, the first of the three being seen this weekend in Miami.
