F1 CEO on Red Bull: 'The fact is they have done a better job than others'

Red Bull Racing is hugely dominant in 2023. The team managed to win all races so far, including the sprint. Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali also sees that dominance, but argues that there is little more Formula 1 can do about it.
Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez alternate as race winners every time so far. In qualifying it is still regularly exciting in the battle for pole position, but in the race the RB19 's advantage is huge. As a result, the tension at the front of the field has disappeared.
Domenicali praises Red Bull
Many people had hoped for a title battle between the top three teams, Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari, in 2023. Nothing could be further from the truth, as the Austrian formation has built a great car, Domenicali agrees.
"This year, we need to say the truth: Red Bull did a better job than the others, it’s a fact. But I would be imprudent to say the championship is finished," the Formula One CEO told Financial Times.
'Cannot intervene in the performance'
Red Bull is so dominant that they even have double the number two points of the constructors' championship, Aston Martin. However, the F1 CEO says there is little that can be done about this dominance now, although the Italian does think the field will be closer together in the future. "We cannot intervene in the performance of the teams. I am sure what we did in terms of financial regulations will help to minimise the gap on the technical side."
