"Mick Schumacher will drive in the Formula 2 in 2019"
- Nicolás Quarles van Ufford
Mick Schumacher, son of Michael, might only be fourth in the Formula 3 championship, but the German teenager has reportedly received offers to drive in either the DTM or in the Formula 2.
German newspaper Kölner Express reported that Schumacher has spent the past weekend with Jean Todt, the sitting president of the FIA, and his son Nicolas, who is co-owner of the prestigious Formula 2-team ART Grand Prix.
A switch to a competitive team like ART could be the perfect step up for Schumacher if he wants to end up in the Formula One someday like his father, as one of their cars will likely be the champion this season (George Russell is behind the wheel).
If Schumacher will indeed be driving for ART, it will mean that one of the two drivers will have to make way, meaning a step up to F1. Jack Aitken is a Renault junior driver, but Russell will be the favourite to end up in F1, as the Mercedes junior has been rumoured to take up one of the seats at Williams next season.
