Constructors' standings | Red Bull and Mercedes run away with the prizes
- GPblog.com
Both Red Bull Racing and Mercedes have dealt blows in the constructors' championship standings. Mercedes has taken over second place from Aston Martin, but still only has just over half the points Red Bull currently has to its name.
Aston Martin had a disappointing weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Fernando Alonso did not progress beyond seventh place in the race after an already disappointing qualifying session, marking the first time since Baku - where he finished fourth - that he could not be seen on the podium after a Grand Prix.
Mercedes saw both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finish on the podium, despite the weaker weekend preceding the race. As a result, the German racing stable scored many points and took over second place from Aston Martin in the standings. Ferrari saw only Carlos Sainz finish in the points after Charles Leclerc had to start from the pits and remains stuck on 100 points.
