Jordan hopes Verstappen doesn't win: 'Would be great'
Formula One legend Edmund 'Eddie' Jordan would love to see anyone else win the British Grand Prix other than Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver's absolute dominance is on display again week after week. Jordan is keen to see that change over the weekend at Silverstone, he tells the Formula For Success podcast.
It is not just the Dutch who see Red Bull dominance in Formula 1, but Jordan too. "Their track record so to speak, is amends, Max is amends. I think it would be amazing if, what Max previously said, if he couldn’t win, that it would be Alonso. Could you imagine Alonso winning with the new Aston Martin"
Jordan likes to see a British winner
Jordan also feels that British fans are always frenzied. That is why he hopes for a British winner of the Grand Prix at Silverstone. "I never forget the response of the crowd and the people willing on Mansell to win that race," the 75-year-old analyst told me.
"I just love to see someone of British descent win, whether it's Lewis or whoever, but let's have a British winner," Jordan concluded. Next weekend, the Grand Prix will be held at Silverstone. Around 5pm, we will indeed know whether an Englishman has won, as Jordan hopes.
